GranD Chefs of Meridies
The Grand Chefs of Meridies, founded in 1977 in the Barony of Iron Mountain by Sir Robert Hightower, are a group of individuals dedicated to encouraging the research, planning, preparation and presentation of visually delightful and tasty period feasts within a budget.
New members are admitted by preparing a Grand Chef's Qualifying Feast. This feast is served at an SCA event and consists of 21 dishes from 7 countries or cultures. It is judged by at least 3 Grand Chefs based on documentation, presentation, cooking skill and the general organizational skills proper to a "feast-crat."
